On Wednesday, September 26, 2001, my world was magnificently enhanced. I was at the awards dinner for the prestigious Stockholm Challenge. I had been a judge in the international competition. The dinner was to announce  and honor the winners and finalists from around the world whose technology implementations had made an important and sustaining impact to improve the quality of life for those in their community, their towns and cities, their countries.

The dinner was held in the Golden Hall (whose walls are covered in a golden mosaic of Swedish history of the Stockholm City Hall.) At one point in the program, the room became filled with the voices of the Sofia vocal ensemble the several hundred people in the room were hushed by their haunting and powerful voices. It was then that we all focused on creation, aesthetics and a recognition of what is best about mankind.

That was the moment of truth about who and what we are. That moment reflected what we can create with our vision, our determination, our willingness and persistence to overcome the obstacles to achieving our goals.

I was seated at the dais table; the mayor of Stockholm in the center, a beautiful eloquent woman next  to him, then me and another beautiful eloquent woman next to me. I loved it!

After the dinner I went up to the woman who arranged the seating and thanked her for seating me between these two magnificent women. Her response became the most wonderful and totally unexpected compliment I have ever received. She commented, “I didn’t do it for you, I did it for them.”

WOW!!!!

Over the years I have received many, many wonderful compliments about how I helped  someone determine the best choice for their career or educational path after completing my Foundations of Brilliance consultation. And I love those and feel very highly validated when receiving that compliment; but to be honest I expect them as I know the effect the consultation will have on someone who completes it.

To learn more about the Foundations of Brilliance consultation you can call me or send me a text message at 323-804-5113, send me an email at bcpercy3@gmail.com, or go to my website at www.careersolutions.biz.

What is the best unexpected yet highly validating compliment you have ever received?
