Years ago I was working as a consultant to organizations; I was very good at what I did and made an excellent income – but I was VERY unhappy. I created documentation, developed training programs and marketing materials for companies such as Hewlett Packard. When I received a contract for a project I ALWAYS had mixed emotions. I was very pleased to get the money for the project, but truly miserable knowing I would spend the next part of my life doing something that was not right for me. And my self-respect plummeted as I began to create the product.
I knew it was the wrong thing for me to do, even though it was a very valuable product for the organization, it was just not MY THING!
I remember meeting with a product manager who needed to have a user manual written for one of his important products. He really liked me and offered a $45,000 contract to work on the 2-3 month project. And I was miserable thinking about spending two months of my life doing something that was wrong for me.
We started talking about other things that I do and I shared the first book I had published. My 9 year old student decided it was about time adults heard from children with advice on how to raise children. I LOVED THIS IDEA, and along with five other students created the book, HOW TO GROW A CHILD, A CHILD’S ADVICE TO PARENTS.

I spoke about this book with pride, joy and enthusiasm. The manager looked at me and said, “I can’t hire you, you obviously don’t have the same sense of enthusiasm and commitment for my project“and he withdrew his contract. It was the right thing to do, and I was greatly relieved. I was motivated by money not by conviction and duty. There is a wonderful definition of duty, If not me who?. I am truly happy when I am producing the right thing for me to do, such as the HOW TO GROW A CHILD BOOK.
Here is one of recent success storie“I found in myself abilities, and things regarding my personality and goals that I never really looked at. I knew a few things but never got deep in to it. This was really great!! I feel very good and confident of what I want to do in my life that will fulfill myself and it’s a very good feeling and exciting!!
“The future looks very great ..” Josie
